And so it begins…
One of the first poems I wrote at the age of 12…
“What a beautiful girl
With her diamonds and pearls
She looks happy to you
But to be true
Her heart is broken and her tears fall through”
From a very young age I understood the intricacies of the world and still to this day write on themes of materialism and masking, or hiding true feelings. I feel proud of my little self and wish I could have told her that to help push her in the direction of honing her craft. Little me would be excited to know the journey we are on now, putting our art out there, even though it’s scary. This is just the beginning of the journey and I am so excited to share more and how my writing has evolved from age 12, or maybe it hasn’t?!?! Hah! Who knows. Either way, I think it’s worth sharing in the hopes that others may resonate with the thoughts and feelings within the writing. So excited to share with you all. Thanks for being here. <3
